Dori Ives
In 1990, Dori Ives founded Business & Community Services, a premiere philanthropy consulting firm designing high-impact marketing/fundraising projects for nonprofit organizations and community relations programs for corporations. With a unique mix of expertise that laces in depth expertise in the nonprofit and corporate sectors, she has the distinct ability to identify and develop successful programs. Recently, Dori has completed numerous e-philanthropy projects.
Working with nonprofit agencies, she has provided a variety of services that focus on creating and implementing comprehensive marketing/fundraising campaigns, videos, brochures, web sites, email communications and print collateral. Her consulting work with nonprofit organizations ranges from multi-cultural groups to diverse socio-economic communities. Nonprofit clients include the American Leadership Forum, Arts Council of Silicon Valley, Earth Share, Cupertino Library Campaign, Family Giving Tree, Global Fund for Women, HomeSafe, Las Isabelas, Marin Science Institute, Stanford University, Sor Juana Ines, United Way Silicon Valley, and others.
Dori is a nationally known expert that designs community relations strategies, charitable contributions plans, volunteer initiatives, matching gifts and employee giving programs, product donations, international giving initiatives, and scholarship programs. A partial list of corporate clients includes 3Com, Adobe, Aspect, Cisco, CyberGrants, eBay, Intel, Johnson & Johnson, Lam Research, Netscape, PG&E, Raychem, Visa, and Yahoo!
She has published three booklets that were distributed to thousands of organizations and written numerous articles. She is also a frequent speaker and lecturer at more than sixty workshops, community forums, and national conferences.
In 2003, Dori was selected by the Association of Fundraising Professionals- Silicon Valley as a member of the outstanding Volunteer Group. Dori's favorite volunteer work has been to tutor non-English speaking children during the past three years. As an active, lifelong volunteer in the community, she has been a board member, commissioner or volunteer with Community Health Agencies, YWCA of Santa Clara County, Parents Helping Parents, Lupus Foundation of Northern California, San Francisco Asian Art Musuem, San Mateo County Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Commission, U.C. Berkeley Walter A. Haas School of Business, Edgewood ChildrenŐs Center, and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Additional professional experience includes working for a family foundation and many multinational corporations. She has an MBA from U.C. Berkeley and is an honors graduate from U.C. Davis.
